Penfolds Grange is released

One of the big wine releases each year is the world famous Penfolds Grange 2008. This years release has been one of the most anticipated releases for some time for the Grange range as the 2008 vintage has received industry wide acclamation.

The wine has received many 100 point scores from critics around the world and this has increased the hype surrounding the wines release. There has also been huge demand for the wine from overseas customers and this has  influenced the price of the wine with Penfolds raising the price by $100 to $785 per bottle.

On the morning of the release, Magill Estate opened their doors at 7.3am and many were purchasing the wine at the recommended price of $785.

This price did not hold for long however, with retail chains such as Dan Murphy’s and other stores dropping the price down to $650 within the hour, sparking a price war. The price has now settled at $643.

The Lenovo tablet TABLE

Lenovo has gone one step further with tablet PC’s and created a table PC called the IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC. The table PC is a huge 27 inch screen device which sits on a table, or can act as a table and can support up to four people using it at once.

The device is part of Lenovo’s new range of what they have termed the Table PC and is basically a range of tablet PC’s which super sized screens. The Horizon Table PC is designed to bring the family together and allow them to use the device all at once. The intended applications include such things as board games (for example Monopoly) and watching videos and viewing photos together.

Included in the package is devices that can be used with the Horizon Table PC such as joysticks and electronic dice.

The device has currently been released only in the US at a price starting at $1,699. No word on pricing in Australia yet however expect it to not be cheap. You can get it cheaper however with a Lenovo coupon.

The Dell UltraSharp U3014

Dell has released another monstrous monitor into it’s lineup. The Dell UltraSharp U3014 measures a whopping 30 inches and has an IPS screen with a resolution of 2460 by 1600 pixels. The screen has they typical dell frame and has a matte screen.

In terms of connection options, the Dell UltraSharp U3014 has the option of DVI, HDMI, Mini DisplayPort and the regular sized DisplayPort.The DisplayPort version is 1.2 which means that it supports multistreaming, allowing you to connect two or more monitors in a daisy chain. To make use of this however, your video card on your computer must also support DisplayPort 1.2. There is also the option of four USB 3.0 slots in the monitor.

One of the new features which we have not heard of appear on a monitor is picture in picture mode. This will allow you to show images from two different connection types provided that they aren’t the DVI and HDMI or each of the DisplayPorts.

The monitor should be available in the coming months at a price yet to be known. You can purchase it cheaper with a Dell coupon which is often available.

The key to picking the right shoes
