Customers are buying regularly, I need to employ staff and ensure that the company can grow with demand, maintain profit and service levels.


Growth is about systems, team and cash-flow. As your business grows you need to put the systems in place to manage the processes behind the delivery of the product, put the people in place who can manage this transformation and grow teams to run the systems to run the business. All of this expenditure on infrastructure, enabling technology and staff costs money so be very aware of your cash-flow. More growth businesses die from not managing their cash-flow than product failure, so remember CFIMITYM (Cashflow is more important than your mother!)

With your team remember that the most valuable asset of the business is your team of trained staff. Losing a quality staff member can take 3-6 months to replace and lots of hidden costs such as retraining, lost productivity and opportunity. Reward your staff and work on keeping the team motivated. Motivation is only partially pay driven. A working environment with respect, honesty, integrity and enjoyment is a key retention tool.
